Delventhal Enjoys Working Indy Jones 4 & Revolutionary Road in Connecticut Dan Delventhal of Fairfield, who plays Charlie Hough in the ESPN Mini Series movie “The Bronx is Burning” filmed at Dodd Stadium in Norwich CT, last year, was surprised when his sister Robin brought open casting call ads for Revolutionary Road, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and Indiana Jones 4 in Stamford and New Haven, to his attention. He joined thousands of hopefuls and waited in line with acting resume and headshots in hand for background roles. “I never imagined such high end Hollywood productions being filmed here in our back yard! This sure beats a commute to Hollywood!” exclaimed Delventhal. He got cast for all three movies, but due to conflicts between films, he only worked on 2. Grant Wilfley and Billy Dowd Casting Agencies ran the “open calls”. Dan Delventhal with Indy Jones HatFor Indy Jones 4 Delventhal was a passerby and group member in a variety of scenes. “Participating in, and reacting to different situations, watching the bad guys chase the good guys – Harrison Ford and Shia Lebuff, directed by Steven Spielberg was fascinating. Even better, was interacting with all the other actors and staff representing an amazing variety including 50 yr. Hollywood veteran Manuel Depina, Radio Man, David Gere, John Ramaine, Katy Oliver, Ted and Shannon Garland, comic Chris Clarke, Yale Professor Hugh Flick and so many others.” He recounts. “At one point during the shooting, some Indiana Jones fans donning the classic hats, and with a news crew in tow, descended on me asking if I was Harrison Ford’s double, and where he was and all, while taking some quick pictures, etc. I wound up on Channel 61 news that night as his double. On the last day we were bussing to the Essex set and casting called looking for me – to be a stand in because the regular appeared to be missing. I think that meant for Ford, but the other guy showed up 15 minutes later and they didn’t need me after all. That would have been a great honor.” Susan and Dan in Revolutionary Road 50's Style AttireIn Revolutionary Road, Delventhal was part of a small theatre audience including Leonardo Decaprio watching Kate Winslett and others on stage. He recently got called to play an old time New York Met, Bob “Rocky” Johnson in an Oprah Winfrey production “For One More Day” movie of the week. Delventhal, also an entrepreneur and environmentalist, is an executive at CAPS Business Recovery Services and RecoveryPlanner.com in Shelton, and an MBA student at Fairfield University.
