Hello everyone,

We have a new schedule and a new price for the dance workshop. It’s less of a commitment in time and money then the original package. Hopefully this will work better for everyone interested. Please pass this around to anyone you think may be interested. I put this workshop together along with Michelle Rivers and Carolyn at the gym. We've got this beautiful underutilized dance studio and people who seem to want a New York style Theater Dance class. My interest in this is solely to expand the pool of talent in the area so that when I hold AEA auditions for Cornerstone Productions I can use local people more often.

A few people asked if they could barter with me on this so it’s probably a good idea for me to explain that the only people being paid are the gym, who rents the space, and the teacher (Michelle). I’m just facilitating it with the hope that it will expand the pool of actors who can move well or dance. Checks will be made out to PPT Sports complex and they will pay Michelle. PPT has liability insurance and all the stuff that no one thinks about which needs to be taken care of in order for a class like this to happen.

I think the price is a little lower than NYC prices and will save people a trip into the city.

4 week Adult Dance workshop for actors who want a New York Style class. Taught by Michelle Rivers.
7p.m.-10p.m. Tuesday
February 12th, 19th, 26th and March 4th
Class will be held in the studio above the Quest Fitness Center at 544 Campbell Ave. West Haven CT.
The class is designed to be a “Broadway Dance Center” or “Steps” style class for professional performers who are unable to get into the city to take classes.
Total price for admission for 4 class workshop: $100.00 Checks must be received by Feb 7th.
In order for the class to take place we’ll need to have a minimum of 8 students. No more than 12 students will be admitted so that everyone gets a quality class without over crowding.
The pricing of this class was based on the cost of taking class in NYC. If you compare the cost of B’way dance center for a 10 class card, each class being one and a half hours, you’ll find this to be a little bit less per hour and a half.
Class description

Class begins with a set modern/jazz warm-up, and focuses on the combination of isolations, basic ballet and jazz technique and presentation. Michelle encourages all her students to come prepared with flat jazz shoes, character heels, knee pads, and proper form-fitting attire.

From beginning to end, class is structured to give the student the experience of being in a Company, on stage, working together through a Company warm-up, rehearsal and a final performance. Pieces are chosen from classic musicals, and often incorporate blocking, partnering, scene, song and dance.
The atmosphere is positive, professional, and challenging, allowing the performers to participate in a powerful Musical Theatre Company Experience.

Karl will hold all checks until the first 8 have been received. If there is not enough people to make the class possible checks will be destroyed or if you want them returned send SASE.
